لدراسة أحداث السيرة النبوية في ضوء السنن الإلهية أهمية قصوى؛ إذ من خلالها نقدم العلاج الشامل لمجموعة من الأدواء التي أصابت الأمة الإسلامية، بل من خلال السير على المنهاج النبوي في التربية والدعوة والجهاد تحقق الأمة عزتها وتعود لها مكانتها، ويتحقق الموعود النبوي بإنتشار نور الإسلام في العالمين.
ويعتبر إستنباط سنن الله من سيرة رسول صلى الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ضرورياً ومهماً؛ إذ الأمة الإسلامية في حاجة ماسة إلى أن تعي دروسها، وتستفيد منها في مسيرتها المستقبلية، وبخاصة أنها موعودة بوراثة الأرض التي لا تتحقق إلا بالتلبس بسيرة رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم.
ولذلك، اختار المؤلف أن يستعرض في هذا الكتاب صفحات مشرقات من سيرة سيدنا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ومعه أصحابه الكرام رضي الله عنهم - ومنها تلك التي تظهر فيها سنن الله جلية واضحة - ليكون حافزاً للأمة المسلمة لتبذل جهدها كما بذلوا، وتصبر على المكاره ومشاق الطريق حتى يتحقق وعد الله تعالى كما صبروا، ويكون هذا الجهاد سنة لها تهتدي بنورها في دياجير الظلام.
وقد بُني هذا الكتاب على مقدمة وبابين وخاتمة: أما المقدمة: فقد خصصها المؤلف للحديث عن موضوع الكتاب، وأهميته ودواعي إختياره، ومنهجه فيه، ومصادر البحث فيه، وأما الباب الأول: فقد خصصه للحديث عن ماهية سنّة الله عزّ وجلّ، ثم عن سنن الله تعالى في الفترة المكية من البعثة حتى بناء المجتمع العمراني الأخوي بعد الهجرة إلى المدينة.
أما الباب الثاني: فقد خصصه للحديث عن سنن الله تعالى في الفترة المدنية (من بعد بناء المجتمع العمراني الأخوي إلى إلتحاق النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بالرفيق الأعلى).
أما الخاتمة: فقد أوجز فيها أهم نتائج هذا الكتاب.
