في عام 1347هـ لم يُسجَّل اسم هذا الفتى مع المقاتلين في معركة السبلة، فدخل على الملك عبد العزيز باكياً يرجو منه أن يسمح له بالمشاركة في المعركة، فرفع الملك يد الفتى أمام الجميع مشيداً بطلبه، ومثنياً عليه، ومعجباً بشجاعته.
وفي عام 1356هـ كان كثير من الناس لا يصدق بوجود الطائرة، ولما شاهدها بعضهم زاغ قلبه خوفاً، وظن القيامة قد قامت.
إلا أنه في العام نفسه كان هذا الشاب يصر على ركوب الطائرة؛ ليكون أول سعودي يسافر جوّاً من مصر إلى السعودية، وفي عام 1357هـ كانت المشكلات القبلية والثارات بين قبائل إحدى المناطق لا تنتهي، فلم تَرِفّ لهذا الشاب عينٌ حتى وضع قانوناً مرضياً للجميع، أنهى به كل هذه الثارات، وحفظ أرواح الناس.
كانت الرياض عام 1373هـ قرية ليس فيها سوى شارع مسفلت، ولا إضاءة، ولا تشجير، ولا مياه سوى مياه الآبار، ولم تمض سوى خمس سنوات حتى جعلها هذا الرجل بدعم الملك سعود واحدة من أجمل مدن الشرق الأوسط، وأدخل الماء إلى بيوتها، وفي عام 1376هـ رأى شركة أرامكو تحرق الغاز في آبار النفط بالمنطقة الشرقية، فلم يعجبه الحال، وأوصل هذا الغاز إلى بيوت الرياض.
