إن المكانة الأدبية الرفيعة التي يحتلها «السيّاب»، عربيًا وعالميًا، تدعونا إلى أن نستعيد الدور الريادي الذي لعبه في تطوير الحركة الشعرية العربية، وفتح الآفاق الواسعة أمام الشعر العربي الحديث ليحتل مكانه المرموق على خارطة الشعر العالمي.
فما أحرانا، ونحن نستعيد هذه الحقائق الأدبية المعروفة في تاريخنا الشعري والنقدي القديم، أن نعطي اليوم، لشعرنا حقَّه، وأن نسلّمه إلى من يعرف جوهره وحقيقة صناعته، ليكشف لنا عن أسراره ومكامن الجمال والإبداع فيه.
