وتمضي الأيام وتمضي السنون ويشيب الشعر ويوهن الجسد ويكبر الأولاد ولا يبقى من الماضي سوى الذكرى، ذكرى وطن يعيش في مخيلتي، لم يبارح عقلي منذ افترقنا، ولن يبارحه إلا بموتي ذكرى أيام جميلة وحياة سعيدة وأناس طيبون ونسائم عليلة وليال هادئة وووو...
شريط الحياة يمر بناظري كل يوم، والدموع أزورها كل يوم، والأحزان لا تفارقني والتعاسة هي زادي.
يسألني الأولاد عن الوطن، ولماذا الناس لهم وطن ونحن بلا وطن؟ ولكني لا أستطيع الإجابة، أو أني لا اقدر على الإجابة، ولكني سأورثهم نعم سأورثهم، سأورثهم تلك الذكريات الجميلة وتلك اللحظات الجميلة التي لا زالت تجوب ذلك الفضاء معلنة أنا هذا الوطن هو "وطني"، نعم سأورثهم الذكريات لكي أبقى على وصال معك يا وطني حتى بعد موتي، فلعل يوماً تعود هذه الذكريات إليك فتدفن هناك في مهدها الذي خلقت منه.
وأظني قد نجحت فمن كتب هذه الكلمات ليس أنا وإنما وريث تلك الذكريات، ولدي...
