Book Description
علي حسين الوردي (1913 – 1995) عالم الاجتماع العراقي الكبير هو أكثر من ملأ الدنيا وشغل الناس في عصره.. أقلق الحكام ورجال الدين، وأقض مضاجعهم بآرائه وأفكاره التي فسّر فيها طبيعة المجتمع العراقي والشخصية العراقية.. وغير ذلك من الموضوعات التي تتعلق بإرث بلاده في ماضيها وحاضرها.
وفي هذا العمل تبرز بوضوح ملامح الجهد المبذول لواحد من ألمع الصحفيين العراقيين وهو الأستاذ سلام الشماع في كتاب يجمع رسائل الدكتور علي الوردي المتبادلة مع قريبه الأستاذ خليل إبراهيم الورد الموظف في مديرية معارف بغداد، ووالده حسين الوردي. ويفعل ذلك المؤلف في خلال خمسة سنوات قضاها في قراءة هذه الرسائل وتصنيفها وشرح ما غمض منها وتحقيقها وجمع المعلومات لها والتعريف بالشخصيات التي وردت في الرسائل أسماؤها، وكل ما يغمض على القارئ العربي من غير أبناء مدينة الكاظمية التي تكرر ذكرها في الرسائل. مع إضافة ملحق للوثائق والصور.
جاء الكتاب بعنوان (الرسائل المتبادلة: علي الوردي.. بين تكساس وبغداد.. 1946 – 1950) وأهمية هذه الرسائل وفقاً للمؤلف أنها: تلقي الأضواء الكاشفة على حياة الناس في العراق والأحداث التي مرت عليها خلال سنوات (1946 – 1945 – 1946 – 1947 – 1948 – 1949 – 1950)، وفيها شهادة معايش لها هو الفنان خليل الورد التي كان ينقلها بما لم نعثر عليه في أي كتاب، إلى الوردي الذي كان ينتظر تلك الرسائل بشغف كبير، وخصوصاً تداعيات الحرب العالمية الثانية وتأثيراتها على الحياة اليومية للعائلات العراقية ومنها عائلة الوردي، ووصف لما جرى في وثبة كانون 1948، والحياة النيابية وكيف كانت تجري الانتخابات وفهم العوام من الناس لها، وكذلك ما كان ينقله علي الوردي من أحداث أمريكا...".
قدم للكتاب بكلمة تليق بالوردي وبمؤلف الكتاب الشماع؛ أ. د إبراهيم خليل العلاف ومما جاء فيها: "... إن العمل الذي اضطلع به صديقنا الأستاذ سلام الشماع كبير وكبير جداً وسيسجل له التاريخ أنه قدم من خفايا أفكار الوردي واتجاهاته ونظرياته وآرائه ما لم نكن نعرفه من قبل، فعن طريق رسائله الشخصية Personal messages وهي كما هو معروف من مصادر التاريخ اكتشفنا جزئيات حياة الوردي وهو طالب دكتوراه وهذا شيء يُحمد عليه أخي الأستاذ سلام الشماع فتمنياتي له بالتوفيق...".
