تكمن مشكلتنا في أننا لا نعرف ما الذي لا نعرفه. وحتى تخميناتنا تكون مستندة إلى تحيّزات لاشعورية ومتوقّعة.
يتّضح أنّ العالم، مع كلّ ما فيه من النقائص، هو أفضل حالاً ممّا نظنّ. وهذا لا يعني عدم وجود هموم حقيقية. ولكن عندما نقلق بشأن كلّ شيء طوال الوقت بدلاً من اعتناق نظرة عالمية تستند إلى الحقائق، يمكن أن نفقد قدرتنا على التركيز على الأمور التي أكثر ما تهدّد حياتنا. مُلهماً وكاشفاً، مليئاً بالحكايات النابضة بالحياة والقصص المؤثّرة، يُعتبَر «الإلمام بالحقيقة» كتاباً هامّاً وضروريّاً سيغيّر الطريقة التي ترى بها العالم ويمكّنك من الاستجابة لأزمات وفرص المستقبل.
