تتآلف عوالم إبراهيم محمد شيخ مغفوري السردية لتصب حول مفهوم (التقليدية) في السرد القصصي في مجموعته المعنونة "أنس والقبطان" لتحيل القصص إلى علاقة الإنسان بالمحيط فتفصح عن وقائع تتصل بالإرث الحضاري المضيئ لدى سكان الجزيرة العربية في الأرياف والبوادي والصحارى والبحار، أي في الجانب الإنساني (القيم) مما يجعل الشخصيات القصصية تتسم بالرجولة والشهامة وإغاثة الملهوف وإكرام الضيف؛ كما هي في الحياة الواقعية وقد رسم لها القاص مغفوري حياة موازية على الورق تتوزع مادتها بين التاريخ والجغرافيا والأنتروبولوجيا وهي مادة جرى تقديمها بقالب قصصي/فني يُعنى بتصوير ما يحدث وما تفكر فيه وتحس الشخوص به بشكل مباشر، جاءت بلغة بسيطة متقنة، فنية، تسمي الأشياء بأسمائها، وحوارات تحيلنا إلى ذلك الزمن الجميل الذي يضحي فيه الإنسان بذاته من أجل وعد أو كلمة يمكن أن تغير الكثير من حياة الآخرين.
من أجواء "أنس والقبطان" نقرأ:
بدأت ملامح ميناء المدينة التي سوف ينزلون فيها تظهر من بعيد، بدأت الحركة على المركب تدب والأمل يظهر من جديد بعد تلك العاصفة.
وصلوا إلى الميناء بعدما يقارب العشرين يوماً مع البحر وأهواله وعجائبه، رسا المركب في الميناء، نزل من كان على ظهره، اتجه أنس والربان (محمود) نحو فندق قريب باتا فيه تلك الليلة إذ وصلت الرحلة إلى الميناء بعد العصر.
في الصباح اتجها إلى قهوة البحارة علهما يجدا هناك من يدلهما على أهل أنس، لم يجدا طلبهما، خرجا من القهوة صادفا بحاراً كبيراً في السن، بادره الربان محمود بالسؤال عن صحته وأحواله بعدما تصافحا فكل منهما يعرف الآخر معرفة طيبة، عرّفه القبطان على أنس، حكى له أنه فارق أهله وعمره خمس سنوات تقريباً وهو من أهل هذه المدينة كما قيل له.
يضم الكتاب قصص قصيرة جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "راعي الإبل"، "سفينة الموت"، "شعار السلام"، "بيت سناء"، "حسن والنبيلة"، "الإرث لا يأتي بخير"، (...) وعناوين أخرى.
