"أمسك دموعك أن ترثي لقتلانا، فالدمع يوقف ردّ الظلم أحياناً، ألق العصابة عن عينيك تحجبها، عن رؤية النار تشوي وجه لبنانا، هي الخيانة.. قد أمست مجسمة، في ذي القيادة خصياناً فخصياناً، أمسك قوافيك أن ترديك تهلكة، تهدي المشانق أشكالاً وألواناً، نشكو لقادتنا ذُلاً.. فقصتنا، نحو الذئاب حملنا الهمّ حُملانا!، أمسك يراعك أن يستلّ قافية، هيهيات يفهم معنى الشعر مولانا!، أمسك طموحك أن يشتاق تجربة، نزيل فيها عن الكرسي أغبانا". كتبت معظم قصائد هذا الديوان خلال الحرب الإسرائيلية الفاشلة الغاشمة على لبنان في صيف عام 2006، ونُشرت كلها-باستثناء قصيدة "اكتب تاريخ المستقبل"-في الصحف المصرية واللندنية، وإن لم يخلُ الأمر من بعض الحذف من القصائد كعادة الرقباء المفطورين على الحمق! وقبل انتهاء تلك الحرب بأيام، وقبل صدور قرار مجلس الأمن بوقف إطلاق النار، بدأت في قصيدة "اكتب تاريخ المستقبل"، وهي قصيدة تحاول تعريف معنى النصر، وتحاول أن تتأمل في ماضي الصراع وأن تستشرف ما سيحدث في مستقبله الممتد. ووجدت القصيدة تتأبّى عليّ إباءً...!
