قالوا عن الشعر وهو مذكر "أعذبُ الشعرِ أكذُبهْ" مهما يكن.. إن أنّثوا الشعر أو ذكَّروه/فالشاعر البارعُ دوماً ثعلبهُ. هكذا يصف "سيروان ياملكي" الشعر في مجموعته الشعرية "لم يبق وقت للحب". في هذا الديوان، يبدو سيروان ياملكي عاشقاً للمرأة، لا يعيش لذاته أبداً، بل لسلطان الشعر، أليس هو القائل "... العشق يا أميرتي تصوف وقضية سماوية/فالرب حين لم يشأ نزولَهُ/أنابه عن روحه الأبدية". هي قصائد غنية بمقوماتها الفنية والجمالية، جاءت كومضات سريعة محركة للعقل والعاطفة معاً، تتنوع بتنوع مفرداتها، (الليل، الحب، الحلم، الضوء، الصمت، الموت). كل هذه المفردات يضمها الشاعر في قاموسه الشعري المتعدد الألوان والمذاقات، تصلنا وفي سطورها الكثير من الطلب والانتظار والتلهف. في قصيدة بعنوان "أيني" يقول الشاعر: ضاعت مني نفسي / ما بين كتاب العمر / وسطور الأمس / فبعدت أنا عني / فكراً / روحاً / جسداً / وأنا ما زلتُ هنا وهناك / لكني لا أدري / أيني. يضم الديوان ما يقارب المائة قصيدة نذكر من عناوينها: "أنت"، "شفتاكِ"، "بوحُ المرايا"، "لا تسألي"، "ثوانٍ"، "ثُمالةُ"، "حُلُمْ"،"لعينيك"، "إلى أميرة سومرية"... إلخ.
