محمد الضبع هو مُترجم وشاعر من اليمن، ولد في 13 مارس 1991م في جدة، عاش ودرس في مدينة جازان.
وأنجز الكثير من الترجمات الأدبية المميزة التي نشرها في مدونته "معطف فوق سرير العالم"، كما نشرها في صحيفتي "الرياض" و"الشرق" السعوديتين. وكذلك قام بإصدار العديد من الكتب المترجمة التي تنوعت بين الاختيارات والمؤلفات الأدبية.

(صياد الظل) عزف منفرد على وتر الذات، وحيرة شاعر أضاع الحقيقة، فلاذ بصمت هادئ، انتهى بتساؤل دال على نفس مزنرة بالحزن، مشحونة بهم صارخ متوحد يعبر عن رؤيا شاعر لا يجد سوى الكلمات يلجأ إليها، وكأنه يعيش في متاهة لا يعرف كيف ينجو منها إلا بالشعر.
هي قصائد تحمل بعض مجريات واقع إنسان عصرنا، ترسم أمنياته بحرف راعش وكلمات حالمة، كوّنت قصيدة حالمة، تخترق أصداء النفس، بما مر عليها في ماض يطل على حاضر يحاول أن يتخطاه إلى مرتجى، عبر حنين ممزوج بخوف الأفول. في [يوميات العزلة] يقول الشاعر محمد الضبع: في مدن العزلة
أختارُ هواءً مرئيّاً كي يصحبَني
أبتكرُ له ظلاً
وأدرب قدميه على موسيقى الخطواتْ
نتحدث كغريبين عن الطقس المعتم
ونفكر في فصلٍ لا يأتي
أو... في عاصمة للحلم
تلاحقنا أشباحُ الوقت
وفي أيديها ساعات موقوتةْ
نتجاهلها
ونسيرُ على أرصفةِ اللحظة
... حذرَين
لكي لا نخطئ
وندوس على قدم غريبٍ يتوسطُنا
كي لا نخطئ
وندوس على قدمِ الموت! (...)".
توزعت قصائد الكتاب على ستة أقسام جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: 1- غابة الأوتار، 2- غابة المرايا، 3- غابة الخفة، 4- غابة النسيان، 5- الرائي، 6- ما تبقى من ألواح الرائي.
