لم تنبثق شعرية "زهرة مروّة" من فراغ لأنها نابعة من موهبة فذّة يمكن تلمُسها في أي نص من نصوصها الشعرية، وهذا ما يؤكده نقاد كثر قرأوا مروّة واستساغوا شعرها، بل كتبوا فيه أجمل العبارات. وفي جديدها (الإقامة في التمهيد) قصائد غزلية تنطوي على صور شعرية مبتكرة تنطبع في ذاكرة القارئ ولا تغادره بسهولة، ذلك أنها تلامس المشاعر، وتخترق أصداء النفس بما مرّ عليها من حلوّ الأيام، وخاصة عندما تكون عاشقة حتى الثمالة: تقول الشاعرة: "سعادتي في إباحيتي المضمرة، في خسوف الجسد، انعتاق الروح، الحدود، الدوران. سعادتي في شدّ حبال، وإفلات أخرى، في قطف ورد في غير موسمه، في التسلق على شجرة، في الستار الذي يغلفني على ذاتي عندما ألامسكَ، فأغدو أنا وجسدي أغنية. سعادتي في ضحكتي الفضاحة لأني أحب نفسي، سعادتي لأنك تتماهى معي، لأنك تدخل في اللعبة فوراً ولا تخرج منها، لأني أدخل وأخرج في اللحظة ذاتها. سعادتي لأني ألعب. لا سعادة لي خارج الطاولة واللاعبين، لا ملاذّ لي بعيداً عن المتفرجين". يضم الكتاب (67) مقطعاً نثرياً ونصاً شعرياً نذكر من عناوينها: "للعابرين حق الارتواء"، "ساعة الشعر"، "إلى السكة"، "يأخذ مجده"، "يحلو"، "التقينا"، "بلا حدود"... إلخ.
