حين نتحدث عن تجربة جومانة عيتاني الشعرية «أحلام بين أوراقي» فمعنى هذا أننا ندخل إلى تجربة شعرية متفردة في اشتغالها على النسق الحياتي المفارق من جهة، وعلى اختلاف الرؤية الشعرية الذاتية للشاعرة من جهة أخرى، فالشاعرة عيتاني بدت وكأنها تومئ إلى الحالة الزمنية الهاربة من قائمة الوجود في تجلياته اليومية، من خلال القبض على مجموعة من الأفكار تشكل موضوعة النص الرئيسية.
وخير بداية ما عبر عنه أمير الغزل اللبناني الشاعر (نبيل معوض) عن شعرية جومانة في (مقدمة الكتاب) بقوله: "... في قصائدها يتكسر شلال الأحاسيس فوق بحيرة اللاّوَعْي، ليعود فيهطلُ رذاذاً بلورياً من الصور الشعرية تُغَذّي خيالنا وأحلامَنا، وتعدنا بحبيبٍ هَجَرَنا أو وطنٍ هجرناه. تحرص جومانة في ديوانها الأول على مبدأ العفوية وتتركُ القصيدة تنساب وحدها لتكون خفيفة الظلّ" هادئةً مثل ندى الفجر في أعناق الزنبق ولجين البدر على صفحة الماء".
تحت عنوان "كوكب الحياة" تقول الشاعرة جومانة عيتاني:
"كن أيها الكوكبُ المُنيرُ في الحيَاةِ/ أفقاً واسعاً للأحبة يتسع لِلْقلوبْ/ القُلوبُ الصَّمّاءُ التي تُسيرُ الدروبْ/ كُنْ شاطئ الأحلام ومحقق الآمالْ/ وراع العاشق المُغرَمَ بكلِّ آنْ/ لأنهُ أضاع مركب النجاة بالهيام/ كن حلم طيرٍ مُراهقٍ حلقَ بالأجواءْ/ أو تنور نارٍ يزيدُ لهيبَ الحائر المشتاقْ/ أو نهراً للمحبةِ يفيض بمائه الرقراقْ/ (...)/ الحبُّ رايتكْ، والعشقُ مرامكْ يا كوكباً أنار سماء الحياة".
يضم الكتاب ما يزيد عن ستون قصيدة في الشعر العربي الحديث جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "رحلة امرأة"، "زفاف ياسمينة"، "محكمة الخيال"، "بيروت"، "ويغار"، "دار الحبيب"، "الحب والسعادة"، "حلم بليل اللقاء"، "لبنان" (...) إلخ.
