في ظلال الذكرى المئوية الاولى لثورة 1919، نُقدّم مذكرات الزعيم مصطفى النحاس التي وضع لها عنوان «مذكرات النفي»؛ النفي إلى سيشيل مع سعد زغلول وأربعة آخرين من قادة الوفد المصري، وتُعدَّ هذه هي المرّة الاولى التي تُنشر فيها مذكرات لمصطفى النحاس بخطِه. وقد عثر على هذه المذكرات الأستاذ فؤاد بدراوي ضمن الاوراقِ التي كانت في حيازة فؤاد باشا سراج الدين، وذلك في أثناء إخلائه المنزل منذ حواليْ أربع سنوات. وينطبق على هذه المذكرات مفهوم اليوميّات، ويُغطّي ما وصل إلى أيدينا منها في ثلاث كرّاسات منفصلة الفترة من 19 ديسمبر 1921 حتى 12 مارس 1923؛ أي أنها تبدأ قبل اعتقال سعد ورفاقه بأربعة أيام، ولا تستمرُ حتى نهاية فترة النفي. كما أن هناك فجوات طويلة فيها لم تصلْ إلينا أو لم يُدوّن فيها مصطفى النحاس مذكرات؛ ومع ذلك تُقدِم هذه المذكرات صورة واضحة ومفصّلة عن حياتهمُ اليوميّة في فترة النفي إلى سيشيل، وتحليلهم لبعض التطوُرات على الساحة السياسيّة البريطانيّة والدوليّة، ومدى تفاعلهم مع ما يحدث على أرض الوطن وهم بعيدون في المنافي.
