لم يكن حسن يتخيل أن أرضاً تبعد آلاف الأميال عن موطنه ستحتضنه وتمنحه الدفء والأمان، بعد أن كان القلق يضغط عليه بقوة لحماية نفسه وعائلته من الرعب الذي التف حوله. ألقى ببصره نحو ذلك الجبل الشامخ الممتد على أخدود تلك المدينة التي استقبلته قبل سنوات، فقد اعتاد الجلوس في حديقة منزله المقابلة لذلك الجبل الحالم... مرّت ليالي تلك السنوات السبع، وفي كل ليلة منها كان يكتشف في ذلك الجبل سراً من أسرار ومفاتيح عالم يعيد إليه بعضاً من الأمان الذي افتقده في بلده... لعل هذا المقتبس الذي يفتتح الدكتور ماجد السامرائي به عمله الروائي «بحر من الوهم» يشي بحكاية رجل اغترب عن وطنه، أثناء الحرب الإيرانية – العراقية، ورحلته للبحث عن وطن بديل، سرعان ما تسفر، عن رحلات أخرى، وبحث آخر أعمق، حول مفهوم الوطن والغربة وعلاقة الإنسان بأخيه الإنسان في أي أرض وُجدَ فيها؛ ويفعل ذلك الروائي من خلال "حسن" الشخصية الرئيسية في الرواية والشخصيات الأخرى المشكّلة للحدث، وفق منظور ما يعرف بـ ما وراء السرد التاريخي، وإعادة تحبيك التاريخ، وعلى هذا يكون الواقع تجسيد حيّ للتاريخ، وحضور الشخصيات في العمل الروائي حضور مرتهن بزمنية تاريخية، وقد حاول الروائي بها أن يعمق البعد التاريخي للشخصية والمكان، وحتى الفعل كبنية إنجازية، كما في بعض روايات عبد الرحمن منيف أحياناً، مما يؤدي إلى أن تصبح الموضوعة التاريخية بكل أوجهها من مختلقات الأدب الروائي، وتعبر داخل إرث الأدب الروائي؛ يعيد خلقها من جديد، على وفق مرتكزات بنائية جديدة، تعيد الاعتبار للأدب الروائي كفن إبداعي خلاق. في "بحر من الوهم" يكتب ماجد السامرائي رواية كل عراقي، هي مساهمة حارة ورائقة لتعريف معنى الغربة، وشهادة من شهادات كثيرة كتبت وستكتب، فالحكاية لمْ تنته سطورها بعد...
