عن الدار العربية للعلوم ناشرون صدرت الطبعة العربية لرواية "Silks" تحت عنوان "دماء في الميدان" من تاليف ديك فرانسيس وفيليكس فرانسيس، وترجمة سعيد الحسنية.
تبدأ الرواية في المحكمة رقم 3 في أولد بايلي، وهي واحدة من أقدم قاعات المحاكم الجنائية المركزية التي بُنيت على الطراز الفيكتوري في بريطانيا وقد صممت هذه المحكمة في وقت كانت العملية القضائية تستهدف إخافة المخطئ وردع الآخرين.
قرر المحلفون الثمانية أن "جوليان ترنت" مذنب. والسبب الهجوم العنيف الذي قام به على أسرة بريئة، والشروع في محاولة القتل.
عندئذ. اكتفى المحامي جيوفري مايسون عندما سمع حكم "مذنب" الذي أصدره القاضي، بالأمل أن يُحكم على موكّله الشاب والمتغطرس بفترة سجن طويلة. بدا أن فترة السنوات الثماني التي حُكم بها على جوليان ترنت كانت في غاية التساهل. لكن مايسون لم يتوقع رؤية ترنت مجدداً في وقت أبكر بكثير مما تصوّره.
وضع المحامي مايسون شعره المستعار جانباً وتوجه إلى سانداون كي يرتدي الملابس الخاصة بالسباق. كان يجد، وهو الفارس ا لهاوي، متعته الوحيدة عندما يمتطي صهوة حصانه. لكن، عندما يُقتل أحد الفرسان على يد أحد زملائه بكل قسوة، فإن المشتبه فيه الرئيس هو ستيف ميتشيل.
ألفى مايسون نفسه في مواجهة معركة بين الحق والباطل، لكن، كان عليه خوض معركة حياة أو موت، وعلى الفور... معركته هو.
