"سيّد الخسارات" رواية تنتمي إلى نمط اجتماعي وثقافي معين، وتشكيل الشخصيات المتجاوبة، أو المباينة لنمطه، تضعها الروائية فاطمة العمار في فعل الاختيار. في الحوارات التي يقدمها النص الروائي، عبر صوت واحد، هو صوت السارد الكلي المعرفة بالجوهر الحقيقي للشخصيات السردية المتعددة، بدءاً بـ "عبد العليم" الأستاذ الجامعي في قسم الأحياء (كلية العلوم)، وزوجته "لمياء" التي لا تُخيب توقعاته؛ المرأة التي تفهم ما لا يريد زوجها وما يريد، في مقابل زوج يفهمها ولكن دون أن يحبها. زوجان عرفا كيف يحافظان على الصورة المثالية للزواج، بينما هما في الحقيقة يعيشان كلٌ في عالِمه الخاص وخيالاته عن الشريك، بينما "فيصل" و"جمانة" فيبدوان أكثر جرأة يعيشان حبهما المحرم وسط الهمز واللمز من الأصدقاء والمجتمع، وأما "علي" و"سيرين" فعلاقتهما مشوشة، تبدو المرأة في هذه العلاقة أقوى، فهي تضع الرجل في امتحان دائم، يخاف من فقدانها، ليصل معها "علي" إلى قناعة أن هناك نسختين من "سيرين"، نسخة يحبّها ويعشقها، ونسخة أخرى لا تُحتمل تجعله يحذر منها، ويفضلّ أن يُبقي على مسافة ما.وعليه، تكون فاطمة العمار قد اصطنعت لروايتها تقنية غير تقليدية، تتعدد فيها الحكايات ضمن الحكاية الواحدة، ومعها تمثيلاً إنسانياً أكثر عمقاً في كشف تناقضات الوعي والسلوك البشري، أما الأهم فيكمن في قدرة الرواية على ترجمة فتنتها بخطابها، واتخاذ عنصر الحياد في رؤية الشخوص للعالم الذي يعيشون وسطه، ومن ثم تهيئة مجال رحب لممارسة التأويل الذاتي للمتلقي، عبر استجلاب مهارات الحوار، ومقومات الإيهام بالواقعية، فضلاً عن استلهام سمات جمالية جديدة في الروي، تُسهم في تكوين صيغ بارعة لعلاقات التقابل والتفارق في الفضاء الحاضن للحقيقة الإنسانية..
