«السُّلطانة كوسِم» محكية سردية عن المرأة الحكيمة التي استطاعت فرض شخصيتها في العاصمة العثمانية لِما يناهز النصف قرن، ونقشت اسمها بحروف لن يخبو بريقها، جبارة، رمز للقوة، ذكية، صبورة، متمكنة من كافة السبل التي تحيل للقوة أياً كان الثمن، تتقن مهارة الانتظار، وآلية الانتقال للحركة في الوقت المناسب، المرأة التي تدرك تماماً أنّ فتح جميع الأبواب ممكن، إن تصرفت وفقاً لموازين الحكمة، لا أهواء النزوات وإلى جانب الاحتفاء بها مراراً كإحدى أيقونات الجمال، فقد استطاعت أن تثبت جدارتها تاريخياً من خلال ذكائها ودهائها أيضاً كانت محظية السلطان أحمد الأول، ووالدة السلطانين مراد الرابع وإبراهيم الأول، وجدة السلطان محمد الرابع. أنجبت أحد عشر طفلاً، أربع فتيات وسبعة ذكور وخلال الفترة التي كانت فيها محظية السلطان، أخذت تنصب بصمت الدعائم الخفية لشخصيتها السياسية، ومن ثم تبوأت منصب نائبة السلطان خلال اثنين من أبنائها، وذلك بعد حصولها على لقب السلطانة الأم، كما حملت لقب الوالدة المعُظّمة أيضاً وكانت "سيدة دولة" أثبتت أنها تمتلك القوة الكافية للحفاظ على بقاء الدولة العثمانية.
حازت على الكثير من الألقاب في كتب التاريخ منها: "صاحبة المقام أم المؤمنين حضرة السلطانة الأم"، "حضرة السلطانة ماد بيكر دامت عصمتها والدة السلطان ملاذ العالم" وبعد موتها أرفق اسمها بلقبي "الوالدة المقتولة" و"الوالدة الشهيدة" أيضاً، أما المصادر الأوروبية فقد خلدتها بوصفها "الملكة" أو "الملكة الأم"، وفي بعض الأحيان "الإمبراطورة".
