من منطقة مجهولة الزمان والمكان يحدثنا بطل رواية "ذاكرة التلاشي" الذي لا يعلمُ بالتحديد أين هو، ومن ذاكرته المثقوبة المشوّشة.. يقول كلّ شيء بصراحةٍ ووضوح تامّين. لا تزال ثقوب ذاكرته تنضح، فلا يتوقف عند حاضره الذي يجهلُ تفاصيله، وإنما يرحلُ بنا إلى الماضي الضارب في القِدم لما له من شبهٍ مع الحاضر، فيمزج بينهما ليقدّم لنا خليطاً من كل ما في وعيه المُربَك ولا وعيه الرمادي غير آبهٍ بما سيؤول إليه هذا البوح.
من أجواء الرواية نقرأ:
"أنحن لعبة في يد الدنيا تسحقها متى ما ملّت منها أم أيدي أصحاب الدنيا؟ كيف نعيشُ غرباء دوما نوغلُ في الغربة.. كلما طال الزمان بنا، لا نصير ولا أهل ولا وطن، لا نجد من نكلمهُ وإذا وجدناه فلن يفهم ما نقول.. أو يُفهمنا بما تبيحُ أو تسمحُ له به ثقافته وتتيح له نفسُه؟ كيف نعيش في (بيت العنكبوت) هذا؟
وها أنا لا أجد من يفهمني إلا نفسي، ولا من أكلمه إلا إياها. أفقد دوماً مثل شجرةٍ حاضرها الخريف.. سأنتهي عما قريبٍ لأنني افتقدت جلَّ ما عندي، ولم يبقَ إلا هذا الجسدُ الذي تملكهُ بل تملك خيرا منه معظمُ البهائم.. ولربما صرتُ أحسدُ كثيرا من البهائم لأنها لا تزال تحتفظ بكثيرٍ مما خُلقت به أو اكتسبته فتسرح وتمرح لتعيش وتتكاثر، ولأنها – بعدُ – بهائم...".
