«ملك اليراعات» هي قصة من التراث السردي الصيني لمؤلفها الكاتب "تساو ون شوان" الحائز على جائزة أندرسون العالمية وجوائز أخرى عديدة في كتب الأطفال المصورة وقصص الشباب، والأفلام السينمائية. وهذه القصة هي واحدة من أجمل ما يُعبّر فيه "تساو ون شوان" عن علاقة الإنسان بالطبيعة في صورٍ سوريالية حيّة، وعن غزو الحياة العصرية لعالمٍ ينبع جماله البديع من عذريته، وعن قدرة البشر على تدمير الطبيعة.
بطل القصة هو الجد «ملك اليراعات» الذي سيجد نفسه وجهاً لوجه مع الطاغية الذي يريد تدمير الطبيعة لصالح البناء عليها، سيُحزن الجد كثيراً مغادرة اليراعات الخمس المضيئة ذات الألوان الغريبة والفاتنة حقول القصب إلى السماء.. ولكن وحده ذلك الرعّاش الغريب، سيقود الجد إلى مستنقعات قصب لا حدود لها، ليرى وكأن مستنقعات القصب قد اتسعت، والسماء كبرت، والأرض امتدت، وكبر حجم الأشياء كلها.. وبعد رحلة طويلة قضاها الجد (الملك) بين السماء والأرض، دفاعاً عن تلك اليراعات.. يغدره الموت لتحط كل يراعات العالم فوق جسده، فيضيء بنورها وألوانها البراقة وذلك بعدما أوصى ابنه وطلب منه: "بعد أن أموت، ابحث عن مساء مناسب، وانثر رماد جسدي على ضفة النهر"، وهكذا انتثر رماد الجد في السماء مثل ألعاب نارية. لقد امتلأت السماء باليراعات المتراقصة، كنجوم متلألئة، نجوم متوهجة، ترتفع مرفرفة ثم تختفي.
هذه القصة تجعل أولادنا يقدرون الطبيعة بشكل أفضل.. ويحافظون عليها.. ويدافعون عنها أيضاً.
