رواية «صاحب الابتسامة» للكاتبة اليمنية فكرية شحرة والرواية تعد استمراراً للروايتين الأولى والثانية ولا سيما على صعيد المضمون؛ إذ نتابع عبر فضاءاتها الأجواء المثخنة بحرب اليمن التي عايش العالم أحداثها على مر خمس سنوات بين سياسة التحالف وفساد الشرعية وإجرام الحوثية وهو الشيء الذي أتاح للكاتبة أن تكشف عن بعض خصوصيات الصراع السياسي المرتبط بحرب اليمن وأثرها على البلاد والعباد. ويتمظهر ذلك من خلال إبراز علاقة شخصياتها بالقضية الوطنية؛ فأحمد وعفراء وحافظ وشوقي وسماح وزينب وغيرهم يدركون أنهم ضحايا وجزءاً من لعبة كبرى لاعبوها كبار لا سبيل لمواجهتهم إلا بروح ثورية وثّابة وبمزيد من التشبث بتراب الوطن. هذا ما يظهره الخطاب الروائي على المستوى العام، أما على المستوى الخاص فقد واجه بطل الرواية وحيداً ما آلت إليه حياته بالكتابة. قرر أن يكتب مذكراته لكي تكون عفراء (الغائب/ الحاضر) بين سطورها. سيكتب بقلم الصحفي والشاعر والإنسان، قصة تستحق أن تُروى. هي "قصة وطن وقصة حب"، تبدأ باجتياح الحوثية للوطن ونشوب الحرب وتستمر بلقائه عفراء أول مرة حين أتت إلى مكتبه في صنعاء من أجل توزيع روايتها، وتنتهي القصة برحيلها عن الحياة بعدما أهدته ديوانها الأخير… "إنها قصة فقد الوطن مرتين فأنت يا عفراء وطن الروح التي فقدت قدراً". تقول الكاتبة عن روايتها هذه: "في الجزء الأخير لرواية صاحب الابتسامة.. أتساءل أحياناً لماذا لا يثور الناس وقد جاعوا وتخطفهم القتل؛ لماذا المدن ساكنة هكذا كأنما أعجبها الحال وهي تئن تحت وطأة ظلم الجبايات في كل شيء؛ كل شيء ينتزعون منه حصتهم حتى الهواء يحجزونه عن المعتقلين والمخفيين في سراديبهم؟ الثورات على الظلم حق.. هناك ثورة مكبوتة تشتعل تحت رماد الخوف ولن يزيح الرماد إلا رياح الجوع التي عصفت بأحيائها الفقيرة.. وجوه الناس المتغضنة بحسرة وحزن خطواتهم المتعثرة؛ أصواتهم التي قاربت الصراخ لأتفه الأسباب؛ وأيديهم التي تمزق الأضعف بسادية كتفريغ لضغط مكبوت. إنها رائحة الحنق والقهر المنتشرة في أجواء المدن اليمنية عوضاً عن روائح قدور الطعام في بيوت تجار الحروب".
