إذا كان الكاتب محمد الضبع قَصَدَ من كتابة «أَخرج في موعد مع فتاة تحب الكتابة» الانكباب على (فعل الكتابة)، فإن الكاتبة نجلاء السديري قصدت من كتابة رواية «على رفٍّ التقينا» الانكباب على (فعل القراءة)، ولهذا الغرض استحضرت إلى مسرح السرد امرأة مثقفة أديبة وكاتبة صحافية عاشقة للقلم ومنكبة على قراءة الكتب، وقد فرغت للتو من قراءة مقال في كتاب «أخرج في موعد مع فتاة تحب الكتابة»، وقبل أن تنتهي من القراءة وتطوي الكتاب ستجد رسالة في الكتاب موجهة بناء على اختياراتها من الكتب، بعث بها شاب حملت عبارة "يوماً ما سأكون في موعد مع فتاة تحب القراءة"!!
تُرى ما الذي يدفع شخصاً لكتابة رسالة لإنسان لا يعرفه شخصياً؟ لم يلتقِ به؟ لا يعرف اسمه، أين يسكن، كيف يعيش؟
هذا ما حدث بين ورود وفارس، عالمان مختلفان امتزجا ليشكلا حياة مشتركة جميلة مع الحفاظ على أجزائها المختلفة كما هي دون تغيير.. ورود وفارس اللذان جمعتهما مدينة غريبة وفرقتهما الأيام.. سوف تجمعهما من جديد رسالة على رف إحدى المكتبات... وستطلعنا على تفاصيل علاقتهما الكاتبة نجلاء السويري في رواية "على رفٍّ التقينا".
من أجواء الرواية نقرأ:
"... أنهت قراءة "أخرج في موعد مع فتاة تحب الكتابة". ليس من عادة ورود أن تكتب تعليقاً خطياً حول كتاب قرأته، لكن هذه المرة كانت لديها رغبة عارمة في كتابة شيء عن هذا الكتاب، رغبةٌ سببها غير واضح تماماً. أخذت ورقاً لاصقاً، ووضعته على الوجه الداخلي للغلاف، ثم كتبت:
"هذه المواضيع المترجمة ليست إلا فاتح شهية للكتابة، وفضولاً حول بعض الرسائل وكُتّابها، ونوافذ على عوالم وأسماء مهمة جداً يجب أن نبحث عنها ونلفت إليها؛ والأهم من ذلك أنها تفتح باباً للسؤال والخيال، وألف باب للتفكير...".
