سعد محمد رحيم (مواليد 1957 - توفي في 9 أبريل 2018) كان كاتب ومؤلف قصص عراقي، عمل في التدريس والصحافة، ولقد صدرت لهُ ستة مجموعات قصصية، وعدة كتب فكرية ونقدية، كما أصدر ثلاث روايات: هي رواية "غسق الكراكي" التي فازت بجائزة الإبداع الروائي العراقي سنة 2000، ورواية "ترنيمة امرأة، شفق البحر"، ورواية "مقتل بائع الكتب" التي وصلت إلى القائمة القصيرة لجائزة البوكر العربية 2017، ورواية "فسحة للجنون" كما صدرت له عدة كتب ودراسات منها :استعادة ماركس" و"المثقف الذي يدس أنفه"، وصدرت روايتين له بعد رحيله هما "لما تحطمت الجرة" ورواية "القطار إلى منزل هانا".
كما حصل على جائزة "كتارا" للرواية العربية لعام 2016 عن روايتهِ غير المنشورة "ظلال جسد.. ضفاف الرغبة".

أعتقد أنها فطنة إلى الحد الذي أحسّت باهتمامه بها منذ أول نظرة. غير أنه ما كان واثقاً من استجابتها. وبدا سلوكها محيراً له، فّسره بحسب مزاجه ودرجة تشوّشه ومخاوفه.. ستصدمه، في أول لقاء يجلسان فيه معاً لوحدهما في كافتريا الدائرة لمّا تفصح ضاحكةً أنها تقرأ أفكاره، وتلتقط إشارات عن ارتباكه، وتسارع دقات قلبه، وولعه الحارق.. سيتلعثم قليلاً، ويضحك بخجل مفضوح. وسيقرر أن يبوح لها كي لا تكتشف مدى ضعفه، لكن أعترافه سيكون ناقصاً بهذا الصدد، وسيعرف أنها تعرف أنه لا يقول من الحقيقة إلا نصفها.
وسيشعره هذا بأنها أقوى منه، وتدرك أنها اقوى منه، وأن العلاقة بينهما ستتخذ، لبعض الوقت، مجرى متعثراً مملواءاً بالمصدّات. سيتردد في أن يقول لها؛ "وإذاً، ما رأيكِ"، وستتلقى سؤاله من غير اندهاش، وسيفهم أنها تلقّته، ولن يفهم من البريق المخضرّ العذب الغامض المشعَّ في عينيها بأنها تبادله العاطفة ذاتها. وسيحتاج إلى ستة لقاءات أخرى أو سبعة قبل أن ينطقها صريحةً؛ "أحبكِ يا لينا، أحبكِ"
