ترتقي الخيل في تجربة الشاعر المُلقب بـ "مُحب الخيل" لتشكل صوراً رمزية مركزية للدلالة على قيم الفروسية والإباء عند الإنسان العربي الأصيل الذي صادق الخيل منذ القديم وأفشى لها بأسراره وبث لها أحزانه ووثِقَ بها أكثر مما وثق بأخيه الإنسان. يستحضر شاعرنا هذه القيم في نصوص وسمها بـ «خواطر على صهوة جواد» جاءت في الكتاب على شكل (مقطوعات شعرية) حملت بين سطورها صوراً متنوعة، ومعانٍ مختلفة، غير متكلّفة وبما أنها تمثيل لـ (الوجود، والطبيعة، والجمال) فَأنِسَ مُحب الخيل بوجودها في حياته، وتصالح بقربها مع الأيام، ما يُنبئ عن مدى الارتباط العميق للشاعر بالخيل، الشيء الذي سيضفي مسحةً جمالية مستحبة ولافتة في النص، وعند المتلقي في آن معاً.
لنقرأ بعضاً من نصوص «خواطر على صهوة جواد»:"أنا والخيل: لتعرف شيئأ عليك أن تحبّه!/ الخيلُ قصةُ حبٍّ منذ الصغر!/ ولي في الخيلِ عبرة!"."رابطة: ثمةَ رابطةٌ قويةٌ بين الخيلِ والأطفالِ!/ وإنّ لكلِّ حصانٍ فارساً صغيراً، أو معشوقةً صغيرة،/ يُحبّهم ويستأنِسُ بهم!/ لم تُؤلّف بينهم كثرةُ الكلماتِ، بل كثرةُ المحبّة!/ وفي صُحبِتهم تجدُ جمالَ الأنسِ والإحسانِ والصّداقة!"."الفروسية: قالت: حدّثني عن الفروسيّة!/ فقالَ: أن أُقدِم حيثُ تتأخّرين، قلبي عليكِ ويَدي بيدِك!"."إحساس: يدُ الفارس ليست لـِ تقودَ الحصان وتسيطر عليه، بل لتفهمه وتشعر به!".يضم الكتاب نصوص نثرية وخواطر ومقطوعات شعرية جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "أنسامُ اليقين"، "أعمارنا"، "أحلامنا يا قلب"، "رباط من الجنة"، "أنا والبحر"، "أنا والخيل"، "حديث الصباح"، "حديث المساء"، "حديث الليل"، وغيرها من نصوص و"تأملات"، و"همسات"، و"ومضات".
