انطلاقاً من أن مرحلة الطفولة هي من أهم المراحل في بناء الإنسان بصورة متكاملة، وتكوين شخصيته، وتحديد اتجاهه في المستقبل؛ يعود الكاتب أحمد بن محمد بن يعقوب عبيدي إلى كتاب الله وسُّنَّة رسوله الكريم ليستمد منها ومن أساليبها ومنهجها التربوي مادة يمكن تطبيقها في تربية الطفل في عصرنا هذا، لذلك اختار عنواناً لدراسته «الأساليب النبوية في بناء الشخصية القيادية للطفل وتطبيقاتها التربوية في الأسرة والمدرسة» إيماناً منه – كما يقول – "بأهمية اقتداء الآباء والمربين بهديه (صلى الله عليه وسلم) وعملاً بالأساليب النبوية لبناء شخصية الطفل القيادية، على غرار تعامله (صلى الله عليه وسلم) مع جيل الصحابة (رضي الله عنهم) وصغارهم، سعى الكاتب لتكون هذه الدراسة مساهمة علمية يعرض فيها مفهوم القيادة، وأهمية بنائها منذ مرحلة الطفولة، والتركيز على بعض الأساليب النبوية التي استخدمها (صلى الله عليه وسلم) في التعامل مع الأطفال والشباب، لبناء شخصياتهم القيادية المبنية على أسس وركائز إسلامية قوية، متكاملة الإعداد والبناء؛ لينهضوا بمسؤولياتهم المستقبلية تجاه مجتمعهم وأمتهم، اقتداءً بخير معلّم ومربٍّ عرفته البشرية، بدلالة قوله تعالى: ((لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ لِمَنْ كَانَ يَرْجُو اللَّهَ وَالْيَوْمَ الآخِرَ..)) [سورة الأحزاب: 21]".
وبناءً على ما تقدم طرق الكاتب من خلال هذا العمل الأساليب النبوية في بناء الشخصية القيادية للطفل، من خلال خمسة فصول ابتدأها بالتعرف على مفهوم القيادة في الإسلام، ثم بيان أهمية الطفولة وسماتها في الإسلام، تلا ذلك وضع الأسس لبناء الشخصية القيادية للطفل (البناء العقدي، البناء الأخلاقي، البناء العلمي، البناء الجسمي)، ثم جاء صلب الكتاب من خلال وقوف الكاتب على بعض الأساليب النبوية لبناء الشخصية القيادية للطفل ويقصد بها "مجموعة من الطرق، والإجراءات المقصودة، أو غير المقصودة في تعامل النبي (صلى الله عليه وسلم) مع الأطفال والشباب، والتي أثّرت في بناء شخصياتهم، وتنمية مهاراتهم القيادية" وختم الدراسة بفصل يحوي محاولة لوضع كيفية لتطبيق تلك الأساليب النبوية، في مجالين هامين للطفل خاصة، وهما مجال الأسرة، ومجال المدرسة.
وأخيراً يأمل الكاتب أن يكون هذا الكتاب لبنة في صرح التربية الإسلامية، وأن يضع للمربين من آباء ومعلمين، نموذجاً لبناء شخصيات أبنائهم بناءً قيادياً، مستعينين في ذلك بهذه الأساليب النبوية، فأي تراث أسمى وأنبل من سيرة القائد المعلم الأول (صلى الله عليه وسلم) وتربيته.
