بين يدينا الطبعة العربية من «The Fox on the Swing: الثعلبة والأرجوحة» القصة التي اختيرت "كتاب الأطفال لعام 2017، ونالت جائزة باتشيلدر لكتاب الأطفال الأبرز لعام 2019 في الولايات المتحدة". وهي تأليف إيفلينا داسيوتي وأوسرا كيودولايتي وترجمة زينة إدريس.
تقول الحكاية: ذات مرّة عاشت أسرة في حديقة، في شارع تصطفّ على جانبيه الأشجار. كانت الأسرة مكوّنة من صبيّ، يدعى شادي، وأمّ تصنع الفخّار، وأب يقود مروحية. وكان لدى العائلة تقليد يومي، إذ يجلس أفرادها عصراً لتناول الخبز مع الشاي. لذلك كان شادي يذهب كلّ يوم إلى الفرن لشراء الخبز. وفي أحد الأيّام، عندما كان في طريق العودة إلى البيت، رأى ثعلبة برتقالية جالسة على أرجوحة. ومنذ ذلك الحين، لم تعد حياته كما كانت في السابق.
كتاب «الثعلبة والأرجوحة» موجّه للأطفال الذين تتراوح أعمارهم بين 5 و10 سنوات، لكنّ قصّته والقيم التي يشجّع عليها ستستحوذ على اهتمام الصغار والكبار على السواء. تدور قصة هذا الكتاب حول الأمور المهمّة بالنسبة إلى جميع الناس، كالكَرَم، والفراق، وفرحة الاكتشاف، وإيجاد السعادة في الأشياء الصغيرة في الحياة.
