في مسيرة التطور التاريخية، كانت قومية هوي رابطة بشرية متميزة تشكّلت تدريجياً. وهي ليست قومية متأصلة على أراضي الصين، ولا قومية جاءت من خارج الصين، كما أنّها ليست قومية عابرة للحدود، بل هي قومية تحشد المسلمين الناطقين باللغات المختلفة من مختلف الدول، وتمزج العناصر الخارجية وجزءاً من السكان الأصليين مزجاً جيداً. وتتميّز هذه القومية التي تُعتبَر رابطة مشتركة جديدة بحفاظها على هويتها الخاصة، كما تتعايش على الأراضي الصينية مع القوميات الأخرى لتمارس الإنتاج والتنمية معاً، ولتبني، ولتحافظ على وحدة التراب الوطني وسلامته. وقد أصبحت جزءاً مهماً لا يتجزّأ في أسرة الأمة الصينية الكبيرة، وتحتلّ المركز الثاني في تعداد السكان من بين الأقليات القومية الصينية البالغ عددها خمس وخمسون.أبناء قومية هوي متميّزون بقدرتهم على التكيّف مع العصر والمجتمع، وبتقدّمهم مع تقدّم المجتمع. وقد صنعوا الثقافة المادية والمعنوية الوافرة باجتهادهم وذكائهم، ودفعوا التنمية الاقتصادية والاجتماعية الصينية قُدُماً، وتأصّلوا في التربة الخصبة الصينية، وأضافوا روائع جديدة إلى هذه التربة بلا انقطاع. تستعرض قومية هوي الصينية، بتنميتها وتطورها، تاريخَها وواقعَها أمام العالم.إنّ كتاب «قومية في تقاطع الحضارات – قومية هوي الصينية» الذي أمامكم، يستعرض تاريخ قومية هوي القديمة والفتية، كما يعرض الفحوى الغنى وخصائص العناصر الثقافية لقومية هوي بناءً على الحقائق التاريخية، وبكلمات بسيطة وحكايات حيوية مع الصور التوضيحية؛ وذلك للتأكيد على إسهام تاريخ قومية هوي وثقافتها في تاريخ الأمة الصينية وثقافتها مرة أخرى.
