إنّ نزعة التخلص من ذوي القربى، أتحدَّروا سلالياً وعائلياً أم اتحدوا في الإيمان أو المقاصد الدنيوية، استمرت تؤول إلى تغييب جسدي عبر التاريخ، وتأصلت في فضاءات بعينها، مخاصمة معايير الحداثة وأدواتها، فيما سارت المجتمعات الديمقراطية المعاصرة نحو مزيد من التسامح في فضّ النزاعات والاستهداف، واكتفت بإنفاذ الموت السياسي بديلاً من إراقة الدماء.
