تتناول هذه الدراسة أبرز معالم التحرك الهندي المعاصر تجاه القارة الأفريقية، من خلال إظهار ملامح الجغرافيا السياسية للهند، ومن ثم تتبُّع مراحل تطور العلاقات الهندية الأفريقية منذ القرن التاسع عشر وحتى الوقت الحاضر، مروراً بتلمُّس الدوافع الأساسية التي كانت وراء سياسة الهند الجديدة تجاه القارة الأفريقية، بعد الإشارة لأبرز المنتديات التي عملت الهند من خلالها على تطوير علاقاتها مع القارة الأفريقية، كما تم دراسة وقائع الاستثمار الهندي في هذه القارة الواعدة بالفرص، والتي تنوعت ما بين إقامة ودعم المشاريع الاقتصادية والتقنية، ودعم مشاريع الطاقة، فضلاً عن شركاء التجارة الرئيسيين للهند في أفريقيا، بالإضافة إلى إقامة ودعم المشاريع العلمية، وتقديم المنح الدراسية، والتعاون على صعيد السياحة والفن والقطاع الصحي... وغيره من القطاعات الحيوية والمهمة بين الهند وأفريقيا.
