في هذا الكتاب يعيد الكاتب سفيان محجوب طرح موضوع حُكم الموسيقى في الإسلام، باحثاً عن إمكانية اعتماد موقف الغزالي للبت في هذه القضية الخلافيّة، والسؤال: هل يُقِرّ الغزالي فعلاً بإباحة الموسيقى والعزف على جميع الآلات الموسيقية؟
- في ضوء هذا الهم المعرفي، يتمحور اهتمام الكاتب في الكشف عن حقيقة موقف أبي حامد الغزالي من الموسيقى ودراسة الأساليب التي توخّاها لإثبات الرّأي الذي ذهب إليه، إضافة إلى البحث في مدى إنسجام موقفه مع عدد من الفقهاء – خاصّة فقهاء الشّافعيّة الذين ينتمي إليهم – ومعرفة الأسباب التي أدت إلى تبنّيه تلك الآراء والقناعات.
- وفي هذا السياق، يتحرى الكاتب الأدلّة التي قدّمها الغزالي ويتحقق من مدى صحّتها نقلاً وعقلاً، ويتتبع أقوال الغزالي في كامل كتاب (الإحياء) وبعض كتبه الفقهية وغيرها؛ ليرصد أيّ تغيّر في موقفه من الموسيقى؛ بغية الخروج بإجابة شافية لقضيّة حُكم الإسلام في الغناء وفي الآلات الموسيقيّة خاصة.
ولمزيد من التفصيل، يُدقّق الكاتب النظر في أدلّة التحريم والتّحليل التي قدّمها الغزالي في ضوء كتب تفسير القرآن وشروح الحديث ومواقف علماء الإسلام في المسألة، على غرار الإمام مالك، والشّافعي، والبُخاري، واِبن تَيْمِية، والقُرْطُبي، وابِن حَجَر العَسْقَلاني، وغيرهم.. إضافة إلى العديد من المصادر الإسلامية المعتبرة الأخرى.
