: يذهب صباح، فتى الرابعة عشرة عامًا، في رحلة مفاجئة إلى البادية مع خاله الذي فقد أثرَ صقره "غنّام"، ومع كلب الصيد "سرحان". وفي اليوم الأوّل من الرحلة يضيع صباح عن خاله، فيجد نفسَه وحيدًا مع "سرحان"، وقربةِ ماءٍ، وبعض الطحين والسمن. وتدوم مغامرةُ الضياع هذه سبعةَ أيّام يواجه خلالها الفتى مخاطرَ كائناتِ الصحراء وعوالمها الغامضة.
هل تدلّه المها على واحة ماءٍ وتنقذه من الهلاك عطشًا؟
هل سيُفْلح في تجنُّب مجابهة ذئبٍ جائع أو أفعى مختبئة؟
وأخيرًا، هل سيعثر على خاله؟
