الحياة تجري كحصان جامع، فإن عجز البعض عن الإمساك بها فإنه يحاول أن ينس اللجام، ويركز على متعة التجربة، ولعل الكتابة ايضاً تجري على هذا المنوال مع فارق بسيط أن الأديب يستطيع الإمساك بأدواته، وإعادة إنتاجها في سبيل إبراز وجهة نظر، أو موقف من قضايا بلده ووطنه العربي وأهمها القضية الفلسطينية وهذا ما فعلته الروائية اللبنانية فاتن المرَ والتي استطاعت في أول سطر من الرواية أن تضعنا أمام مشاهد اجتماعية نجمت عن صراع الأقوياء في بلدها لبنان، يأتي ذلك عبر تسليطها الضوء على قضية اللاجئيين الفلسطينين القاطنين في مخيم شاتيلا، والمجازر التي توالدت وانفضت مخلفة ناجين يتساءلون عن أسباب نجاتهم، لا يستطيعون الهرب من صور الجثث المكومة حولهم إلاَ بالفرق ضمن صغائر الهموم والصراعات، محكومين بالعيش وسط أوحال الذكريات وفساد واقع يحاصرهم كمتاهة.
في هذا المعنى تقدم الرواية عبر بطلتين استثنائيتين نجوى ودارين وعبر وحدات سردية متتالية جاءت على شكل رسائل الكترونية تتبادلانها ما أرادت "فاتن المرَ" البوح به عن عالم المهمشين وعذاباتهم وهم بستيقظون كل يوم –وتغني بهم الفلسطينين- على وعود كاذبو واتفاقات تكاد تنهش من لحمهم، بينما يدعي صانعوها انها تمدهم بالأمل "الفوضى في كل مكان: في الأقوال والأفعال والأفكار والمشاعر. وهي موروثة، عابرة للأجيال، أجيال القادة وأجيال المنقادين، بعضهم تعلم أن يتلاعب بها ويستغلها، وبعضهم الآخر وقع ضحيتها، أما الاخرون الذين يحاولون إزالتها فينتهي بهم الأمر شهداء على مذبحها (...)".
