Suhail Idrees
The Author Book Al Manhal Al Waseet (French - Arabic Dictionary) and the author of 16 another books.
من مواليد بيروت سنة 1925 م، درس في الكلية الشرعية وتخرج منها شيخا عالما ورجل فقه، وبعد تخرجه سنة 1940 م تخلى عن زيه الديني وعاد إلى وضعه المدني.
وبعد ذلك بدأ يمارس الصحافة منذ سنة 1939 م، لكنه استقال ليتابع دراساته العليا في باريس قصد تحضير الدكتوراه في الأدب العربي تحت إشراف أساتذة جامعة السوربون.
نال فعلا شهادة الدكتوراه واستوعب جيدا الفكر الغربي وتياراته الفلسفية عن طريق القراءة والترجمة والاحتكاك المباشر وعند عودته، أنشأ سهيل إدريس مجلة الآداب سنة 1953م بالاشتراك مع المرحومين بهيج عثمان ومنير البعلبكي، ثم تفرد بالمجلة سنة 1956م ودافع كثيرا عن التيار الوجودي، وترجم الكثير من إبداعاته وقد كانت المجلة دعامة أساسية للشعر التفعيلي والقصيدة النثرية والحداثة بصفة عامة.
في سنة 1956 م، أسس سهيل إدريس دار الآداب بالاشتراك مع نزار القباني، الذي اضطر لاحقا إلى الانفصال عن الدار بسبب احتجاج الوزارة الخارجية السورية.
وعمل في سلك التعليم مدرسا للغة العربية والنقد والترجمة في عدة جامعات ومعاهد.
وأسس اتحاد الكتاب اللبنانيين مع قسطنطين زريق ومغيزل ومنير البعلبكي وأدونيس، وانتخب أمينا عاما لهذا الاتحاد لأربع دورات متتالية.

محافظين على الخاصّة المميّزة للمنهل بإحياء الكثير من المفردات بإستعمالها في عبارات فرنسيّة وعربيّة ذائعة الشيوع، وقد أفرغنا فيه، على إيجازه، أقصى الجهد ليأتي، من حيث المنهج والتدقيق وطريقة إستعماله، مشابهاً لسلفه.
