له في الرواية "بناية ماتيلد" و"غناء البطريق" و"لعب حيّ البياض" و"ماكياج خفيف لهذه الليلة".
وفي القصّة "تحت شرفة أنجي" و"نزهة الملاك".
ترجمت رواياته إلى الإنكليزية والفرنسية والألمانية والإيطالية.
ولد حسن داوود سنة 1951، وهو يعمل صحفي في اليومية البيروتية "المستقبل"، درس الأدب العربي بالجامعة اللبنانية في بيروت.
ظهرت أوّل رواية له باللغة الفرنسية بعنوان "ضيعة ماتلدا" سنة 1998، وتبعتها رواية ثانية بعنوان "الأيام الأخيرة"، وهي دراسة نفسية عميقة حول الشيخوخة.
Book Description
كان صوت المؤذن يصل إليه قليلاً مبدداً من المئذنة البعيدة. عرفه كان يضيف نغمة حزينة إلى كلمات الأذان الأخيرة، يصل صداها إلى يعقوب وهو في الأرض الصغيرة الواطئة، يرتفع صوت المؤذن حيناً فيتضح، ويتهيأ ليعقوب أن الرجل اقترب مسافة منه. لكن يعود فيبتعد. كان الرجل في رأس المئذنة القليلة العلو. يضع كفه بين أذنه وذقنه ويقدم رأسه حين يقرأ كأنما ليسمه صوته إلى بشر حسبهم موزعين في الجلول عند أطراف الضيعة.
