يعرض هذا الكتاب رؤية جامعة لميدان علم الترجمة الواسع، على الرغم من قلة معرفتنا به. فهو يقترح على القراء عرضاً لنشاطات بَذَلها أصحابها، لا يدّعي الشمولية. وفيه، أخذنا بالحسبان نتائج الدراسة الترجمية، لكنَّ أصالة هذا الكتاب تعود إلى سعيه لتوضيح تنوّع المقاربات النظرية والعملية المهنية في مجال الترجمة والترجمة الفورية.
لا غرو في أن استقلالية علم الترجمة (الترجمية) قد ترسّخ تفي هذا الكتاب على الرغم من توجّهه المتعدِّد المشار بالتي يقوم عليها كل فصل من فصوله. ولئن ركَّز الكتاب على الإشكالية الترجميّة بالمعنى المعروف، إلا إنه يسمح للإحاطة بمجال درسي خاص، وأبوابٍ لازمة ومثمرة.
هذه المقدِّمة إلى علم الترجمة، تخاطب الساعين إلى الترجمة سواء أكان ذلك السعي في رحاب الجامعات أم في الميدان المهني. من خلال تصميمها العملي، فهي تهدف إلى أن تكون أداة يرجع إليها مترجمو المستقبل والمترجمون الفوريون، والمُعِدّون adapsteuss وLocalisateurs. وأساتذة الألسن الأجنبية والقائمون على التأهيل في مهن الترجمة.
إذاً، فالترتيب الذي يقوم عليه هذا الكتاب بغيته الأولى أن يكون سهل التناول. حيث ترى في فصوله حشداً من المقبوسات القصيرة العامة، والمؤاطِّرات العامة التركيبية .Synthétiye أما الأفكار الواردة فيه فمزوَّدة بأمثلة، ومقبوسات هدفها المساعدة على الفهم والحفظ، أو الاستذكار. والمصطلحات الاختصاصية (أو الفنية) لعلم الترجمة وعمدنا إلى تعريف المصطلحات التخصصية، وإحالتها إلى مظانها. ووضعنا في آخر الكتاب ثَبتاً يسهّل على القارئ شأن البحث عما يريد.
وقد توّجنا كل فصلٍ من فصول الكتاب بملخصٍ لما ورد فيه من أفكار رئيسة. ومجموعة من الأسئلة التي تستعيد النقاط التي وردت فيه. كما تسمح هذه الأسئلة بتوضيح أهم الأوجه التي أتى عليها الفصل المعني. أما باب القراء اتالتين نصحبها. فقد صمَّمناه ليكون تذكيراً بالنتائج المتحقِّقة، واستشراقاً للأفكار المطروحة. والهدف من هذا كله إدخال القارئ في ما يقوم عليه علم الترجمة من وفرة وغنى.
