يتجولون في ذهني كتهديد غير متفهم وأصبح كل تضمين الإيحاءات التي التقطتها من وجه عبد الرقيب ونحن في الصف الأخير للفصل على أنها حيثيات في الحكم النهائي الذي كونته ضد زملائي في المدرسة باعتبارهم مدانين في جريمة التخلي عني. ذلك أن عبد الرقيب كان على الدوام يمط شفتيه أثناء دأبي في إلقاء الدعابات ضد شروح مدرس اللغة العربية في ثالث ثانوي. ما كنت أطلق عليه العته في شخصية ذلك المدرس وهو على الدوام يطلب منا احترامه واحترام اللغة العربية وتضمينه لقصائد تروق مزاجه التربوي الصارم قصائد من خارج المنهج لها علاقة في النهاية بذلك النوع من المضامين التربوية التي تشعرك وكأنك لم تلق تربية جيدة في أسرتك. كان يأمر النصف الأخير من الفصل بالوقوف طوال الحصة حتى نخرج من بيننا الزميل الذي همس لزميل آخر أثناء شرحه المهم والمستميت لبيت: "إنما الأمم الأخلاق ما بقيت".
