اعتقل الشاب ياسين الحاج صالح من كلّية الطب في جامعة حلب بتهمة الانتماء إلى حزب معارض… تنقّل بين سجن حلب المركزي ومعتقل عدرا في دمشق مدّة خمسة عشر عاماً. قبل أن تنتهي مدّة حكمه يُعرض عليه أن يصبح مخبراً، يكتب التقارير ويشيبأصدقائه. يرفض ياسين، ويرحَّل مع ثلاثين سجيناً إلى سجن تدمر الرهيب، ليمضي سنة إضافية في مكان جحيمي لا تنفتح أبوابه إلا لتلقي الطعام والعقاب.
هناك، لا أخبار جديدة، لا طعام شهياً، لا زاد عاطفياً، لا شيء طازجاً من أي نوع. زمن آسن متجانس، أبدية لا فوارق فيها ولا مسام لها. سجناء يقتلون الوقت بما يتاح من وسائل التسلية، وآخرون يروّضونه بالكتب والأقلام. عالم بلا نساء، لا أسرار فيه ولا خصوصيات.
زمن الثورة السورية يبدو وقتاً مناسباً للإفصاح عن هذه النصوص المؤلمة، حيث تجربة سجين ومفكّر سياسي عاش ستّة عشر عاماً من عمره على حافة التحطّم والخوف.
