تغلب مفردات الحب والهوى والعشق على شعر عبد العزيز محيي الدين خوجة. هو من شعراء الحب في الشعر العربي المعاصر. ولكنّه أيضاً شاعر وجد ديني في العشق يصل به إلى مراتب العشق العرفانيّ. وهذا الوجد، كما يرى المؤلّف، يمتدّ على امتداد قصائد الشاعر، ببيت من هنا، ومقطع من هناك، وقصيدة من هنالك، وصولاً إلى ديوانه الأخير "أسفار الرؤيا".
يغوص المؤلّف في قصائد خوجة مبيّناً أنّه شاعر عربيّ البيان، متجذّر في التراث وحديث الرؤية في وقت واحد. طوّر قصيدته باعتدال أسلوبي وديباجة لغوية لم تقطع جسورها مع الأصول ولم تغرق في الحداثة الشعرية.
