د. محمد المهدي، من مواليد المنصورة 1956. حاصل على دكتوراه الطب النفسي من جامعة الأزهر. يشغل حاليا منصب رئيس قسم الطب النفسي، جامعة الأزهر بدمياط. وهو عضو مجلس إدارة الجمعية المصرية للطب النفسي، ومجلس إدارة الجمعية العالمية الإسلامية للطب النفسي. مستشار التحرير بمجلة «النفس المطمئنة»، ومستشار بموقع أون إسلام. له حوالي عشرون كتابا في موضوعات مختلفة في الجوانب النفسية والاجتماعية والسياسية.

الحياة الزوجية لاتخلو من المشكلات والخلافات، نظرًا لاختلافات الشخصيات ووجهات النظر والخلفية الثقافية والاجتماعية لكل من الزوجين، لذلك نحتاج لمعرفة أسباب وجذور المشكلات والخلافات الزوجية، ومعرفة آليات التدخل المبكر لإنقاذ الزواج من الانهيار، وإنقاذ الأسرة من التصدّع.
وهذا الكتاب كتبه المؤلف من واقع خبرته الطويلة كأستاذ للطب النفسي تعامل مع أعداد كبيرة من الأزواج والزوجات في جلسات العلاج النفسي الفردي والعلاج الزواجي والعلاج العائلي، وأراد أن يعطي خلاصة هذه التجربة لمن يريد أو يحتاج.
والكتاب في مجمله محاولة لتسهيل الوصول إلى خريطة سعادة للرجل والمرأة في حياة مليئة بالضغوط والمشكلات، وهذا أمر يبدو للبعض بعيدًا، ولكنه في الحقيقة ممكن إذا صلحت النوايا، واستفدنا من العلوم النفسية والاجتماعية والدينية وخبرات من قبلنا؛ حتى نصل إلى أفضل صيغة ممكنة لحياتنا وحياة أبنائنا.
