أقام الرجل سُلَّمهُ فبدا عملاقا كدُبٍ هَبَّ على قائمين .. أراحه على السور فلامس قمته، أو أعلى قليلا .. هكذا أظهرته المشاعل الضخمة على سطح السور الخشن .. كانت المشاعل هنا من البداية .. منذ أن حل الظلام وعزفت الشمس عن السطوع .. يوم أن استيقظ الجميع من نومهم فرأوا ليلا مازال حاضرا فأكملوا نومهم حتى يحل نهارًا لم يأتِ أبدًا .. استيقظوا ثانية، نظروا عاليًا ، رأوْا ليلا فأكملوا نومهم .. ثم استيقظوا وناموا .. ثم أفزعهم الظلام ...
لم نفكر يوما في هذا اليوم الآتي .. عندما تتوقف الشمس عن المجئ .. عندما تلملم أشعتها المهدورة وتمضي لغير رجعة .. اِعتدنا النور، والاعتياد خدعة .. الاعتيادُ ضبابٌ أسود يمنع الرؤية ويغشي العين عن المحتمل.
