هناك عادة زفاف ألمانية ممتعة وهي لعبة صغيرة تحدث بين العروس والعريس في وقت ما خلال الطقوس الكنيسة عندما يركع العروسان، حيث يركع العريس عمداً على ثوب الزفاف للتعبير بطريقة طريفة عن أنه سيكون الشخص المسيطر خلال الزواج، وقبل أن يشعر أي أحد بالإهانة من هذه الحركة عليك أن تعلم ما الذي سيحدث بعدها؛ عندما يُطلَب من العروسين الوقوف مجدداً تحرص العروس على أن تقف على قدم العريس ليكن معلوماً بأنها ستكون بأنها ستكون صاحبة اليد العليا!...
في التشيك اعتادت الفتيات أن يقطعن أغصان الأشجار المثمرة في عيد القديسة بزيارة (في الرابع من ديسمبر / كانون الأول) ويضعنها في الماء وينتظرن حتى تزهر البراعم، تسمي الفتيات كل برعم باسم شاب، ومن ثم فإن البرعم الذي يزهر أولاً سيشير إلى عريسهن المستقبلي.
يحتفل الأرمنيون بعيد Trndez [والذي يعني حرفياً أن يقدم المرء نفسه للرب) في آخر فصل الشتاء، ويعود هذا العيد إلى العصور الوثنية عندما كانت تستخدم النار للعبادة، أما حالياً فيقوم المحتفلون بإضرام نار كبيرة في ساحة الكنيسة، ويقفز المتزوجون حديثاً فوقهم لحماية أنفسهم من كل الأمور السيئة مثل الشر والغطرسة وسوء الحظ، ويترافق هذا اليوم مع قدوم الربيع إلى أراضي أرمينيا.
