يكثر الكلام عن التربية الحديثة، والمقصود بها أساليب التربية وقت الكلام عنها، فهي ساعتها تكون حديثة لأنها معاصرة، وقد لا تكون كذلك إذا أدركها التقادم، ليس لمضي الزمن فقط بل أيضا لاكتشاف نظريات أحدث، فتصبح الطرق التي كانت حديثة قديمة، لكن ثمة أساليب وطرق لا تتقادم مهما تعاقبت عليها السنوات، فكانت حديثة حين تم اتباعها، وتظل كذلك بعد سنوات وسنوات، لأنها تظل صالحة، فهي يتم اتباعها لتخرج لنا تلميذا متفوقا وأيضا إنسانا اجتماعيا مفيدا ومتعاونا، أي لا تركز فقط على مهارات التعلم.
ومن أهم الكتب التي تناولت موضوع "التربية الحديثة" كتاب "طرق التربية الحديثة" تأليف الدكتور محمد حسين المخزنجي، وقد صدرت طبعته الأولى في مطلع عام 1936 .
