دعاني يومًا إلى مرسمه، كشف لي عن عشر لوحات، قال لي بأنّه استلهمنّ منّي، كانت لوحات غريبة، وردة نبتت في مزبلة، كأس ماء بين أقداح خمر، غزالة بين الأفاعي. أمسك من يدي وبدأ يحدّثني عن هذه اللوحات، وبعد أن شمنّي، همس في أذني، بأنّ رائحتي نتاج زهور الدنيا البرية، الجبلية، التي لم تمسها الأيدي، وبأنّي نقية وصافية كالماء وسط برك متعفنة، وبأنّي غزالة شاردة، في وادي مليء بالأفاعي والذئاب.
في تلك الليلة أعترف بأنّه يكره تلك النسوة اللواتي يعتقدن بأنهنّ جميلات الشكل، جمالهنّ زائف، سيتلاشى كزبد البحر الذي يتلاشى على الشاطئ. استسلمت لكلماته وللمساته، رسمن ونحتن أحرف كلمة الحب في قلبي وجسدي للأبد.
