«اليوم سأخلع قشرتي لأجرب البحر، سأخلع عاداتي وتقاليدي.. سأخلع بنطالي للطبيعة.. سأولد من جديد.. خذوا ليترين من عرقي ودعوني أتنفس تحت الماء.. سئمت ضمادات روحي.. تعبت من دون هوية.من أنا؟ سأجيب؛ أنا لاجئ يعيش ليكسب قضية؛ ويموت في كل لحظة موت درويش.لماذا أنا هنا؟ لكي أبحث عن جذر، عن اي أثر، لأقدم برهاناً للدجال بأن لي وطناً ضاع فوق السحاب ولا أعيش الآن فيه، وممنوع ممنوع ممنوع.لماذا أنا؟ لأن قلبي ولد مصادفة في وطن الأنبياء، وأعيش في غربة تدفعني بالأبواب.»
