تحدث عدد من الكتّاب، ما يناهز عن عشرين كاتباً أردنياً بين ناقد وشاعر وأكاديمي، تناول كلٌ منهم حياة وتجربة "علي فودة" من جوانب مختلفة، رصدوا التجربة الروائية، والشعرية، والانسانية، فكان "علي فودة" يتنقل بين صفحات الكتاب في أدوار مختلفة، فهو الشاعر تارة، تتجلّى الروح الثورية الملتزمة في أشعار علي فودة كلها، وبشكلٍ واضح؛ إذ تشيع فيها روح التمرُّد والإباء، فهو مسكونٌ بقضايا وطنه، وهمومه هي التي تحرّك وجدانه وأحاسيسه، مما جعل أشعاره سجلاً للأحداث وترجماناً صادقاً لمشاعر شعبه وأمته.
مثلّت شخصية علي فودة الرافضة والمتمردة نموذجاً استثنائياً مميزاً في الوسط الأدبي، فهو واحدٌ من الشعراء القلائل الذين كتبوا قصائدهم الغاضبة بالدم، ولعله صوّر حالة هذا الرفض المطلق في الكثير من قصائده، وخيرُ مثالٍ على ذلك قصيدته التي جاءت بعنوان «الغضب» وضمّنها ديوان الغجري الصادر في عام 1977، ويقول فيها:
«عنوةً يأتيكَ موج البحر في الحرب وفي السلم،
احتدمْ
والتحمْ بالعشب والنار التحِمْ
لا تخف..
فالنهر لا يجري بغير الماءِ..
كُنْ شلاّل ماءٍ
أو غناءً دموياً
أو رداء
كن ضمير الفقراء
واحتدِمْ ثم احتدم
فالملايين التي أرهقها الصيفُ
وعرّاها الشتاء
والملايين التي سيقَتْ إلى مشنقة الجوعِ
وآبار الدماء
لم تزل في الأرض تحيا وتنادي:
«أعطني القدرة حتى ابتسمْ»
فاحتدمْ
ثم احتدمْ
ثم احتدمْ!»
وقد عرف علي أن له وطناً سليباً وشعباً مضطهداً محروماً يعاني من الفقر والجوع وإرهاب الاحتلال والحكم العسكري، فانصبّ تفكيرهُ وشعوره على تأمُّل واقع بلاده المهيض وحياة التشرد التي يعيشها أبناء شعبه في الشتات، فكان شعره تسجيلاً أدبياً، وتوثيقاً فنياً لما عايشه هو وأبناء وطنه من مآس وأحداث عصيبة، ولذلك فقد كان صادق العاطفة في كل ما ينطق به؛ لأنه لم يقل شعره ترفاً، بل قاله تعبيراً عن مشاعره بطرقٍ مختلفة، من أهمها الشعر والرواية، حتى تكاد تشعر بمرارة الكلمات في حلقك وأنت تقرأ شعره الذي يدور معظمه حول تصوير معاناة شعبه وتضحياته الجسام.
