لم أكن أنظر إليهم على أنهم أطفال، فالطفولة تعني البراءة والنقاء، وأولئك في نظري كانوا أبعد ما يكونون عن تلك المعاني.
لم أتبحّر يوماً في سبب تشرُّدهم أو أعدّهم مجرد ضحايا لجرائم ارتكبها الكبار بحق الطفولة، بالتأكيد كنت يتيماً، لكنني لم أتعاطف يوماً مع المشرّدين!
