ثمة قراءة تكتفي بتقديم سيف الرحبي بوصفه شاعراً، دون النظر إلى منجزه الكُلِّي بعينٍ متفحّصة. فهذا الأديب العُماني الذي امتدّ حضورُه وأثرُه عابراً الحدود، أخلصَ للقصيدة طويلاً من غير أن يجافي النصَّ المفتوح بما ينطوي عليه من سرديةٍ مغموسةٍ بالشعر والتخييل، وفي الوقت نفسه ارتادَ الأدبَ الرحليّ بصيغةٍ حداثية كرّس فيها بصمتَه، ماتحاً من بئرٍ لغوية يُعتَدّ بها، وموظِّفاً في كل ذلك المشهدَ السينمائي، وتقنيات المسرح، وتداعيات الذاكرة، والثقافة النوعية التي اكتسبها من منازلة الحياة، الأمر الذي يجعل القارئ أمام مُنتَج إبداعي متفرِّد لا يُشبه سواه.
إنّ ما يجعل المنجَز الإبداعيّ لسيف الرحبي على هذه الصورة، تلقائيتُه، وصدقيّته، وجِدّته، وتدفُّقه بحرّيةٍ لا تتقيَّدُ بضوابط الأسلوب؛ فلا حدودَ للتعبير ولا قوالبَ جاهزة، لهذا لا يتردّد الرحبي إذا ما تعلّق الأمر بالتجريب وخوض غمار فضاءات تلين له وتنقاد بسهولة، فيما تستعصي وتنغلق على سواه.
يُعبِّر سيف الرحبي في نصوصه الحرّيفة هذه، عن ذاتهِ وعن العالم في آن، ويتداخلُ فيها الخاص بالعام في ضوء تنوُّع عوالمه واشتغالاته. وإذا كان الكاتبُ العاديُّ نتاجَ بيئتهِ وجغرافيته، فإنّ الرحبي نتاجُ بيئاتٍ متعددةٍ، تتجاوز عُمان وتضاريسها لتشملَ العالمَ بأسره، وفي هذا ما يكفي للاحتفاء بالمشترَك الإنسانيّ الذي لا يأبه بالحدود.
