وقد يرى البعض أنها أسئلة بلا فائدة، فهى ألغاز مغلقة سقطت بمضي المدة، وتعلق العقاب فيه بالله الواحد القهار، ولا دعوة جديدة فيها على المستوى القانوني.
لكن المؤلف يرى أن البحث في أسئلة الناس بحثاً لا عن عقوبة لأحد ولا لإدانة أحد بالمعنى المتعارف عليه، وإنما ليرتاح الضمير العام ويسكت وجع الغموض، فنحن ضد أن نرى الفعل ولا نعرف الفاعل، أو أن تقع الجريمة ويهرب الجاني.
نعم.. من المهم أن نعرف الفاعل، حتى ولو لم تقم العقوبة!
