الكيمياء نمارسها في حياتنا اليومية؛ فجميعنا نُمارس الكيمياء دون أن نعرف، فمثلاً كوب الشاي الذي تُعده فعندما تضع السُكر في الماء فأنت تقوم بعملية كيميائية وهي الذوبان أو الإذابة، وأيضاً إذا زاد هذا السُكر عن الحد فأنت قُمت بعملية التبلور، وعندما تضع الليمون على الشاي فأنت تضع حمض الستريك الذي بالليمون في كوب الشاي.. وكُل ما سبق ما هو بالحقيقة سوى تجارب كيميائية بسيطة، ولكن الخوف الغريب من الكيمياء ما هو إلا تعتيم مقصود كي ينسي العرب الكيمياء التي أنشأها أجدادهم ، لأنها الشيء الوحيد الذي يعمل على بناء الحضارات؛ حيث إن أي حضارة بدون الكيمياء تكون حضارة مُتخلفة وغير قادرة على التقدم .
