تؤكد عزمى أن هذا النوع من القهر له تأثير نفسى سلبى على النساء، معززة أطروحتها بعشر حكايات من تجارب يومية للنساء تثبت فيها أن المرأة كما تكون مظلومة وضحية، أحيانا فإنها ظالمة وجانية على بنات جنسها أحيانا آخري، معتبرة أن دلائل وجود هذا النوع من القهر النسوى يمكن الاستدلال عليه من خلال تعاملات النساء مع بعضهن البعض فى الحياة اليومية؛ فمثلا لا توجد امرأة تتحدث عن نجاح أخرى أو تشيد بمظهرها وشكلها باستحسان صادق خال من الحقد والحسد و«النفسنة» إلا قليلا، كما أن غالبا ما يكون محور حديث النساء فى تجمعاتهن عن امرأة آخرى يتبادلن الحديث عنها وعن حياتها الشخصية وأسرارها التى باحت لإحداهن بها يوما ما، وكذلك نظرة التعالى والاحتقار التى تنظر بها المرأة المحجبة فى أحيان كثيرة إلى غيرها التى لا ترتدى الحجاب، معتبرة نفسها أفضل منها إيمانا وهداية، فى مقابل نظرة غير المحجبة للمرأة المحجبة باعتبارها رجعية وأقل تحضرا وأناقة، وأيضا نظرة المرأة غير العاملة لمثيلتها العاملة باعتبارها مقصرة مع زوجها وبيتها.
