عبد الرحمن بن علي بن محمد الشيباني الزبيدي الشافعي، وجيه الدين، المعروف بابن الديبع: مؤرخ محدث من أهل زبيد (في اليمن) مولده ووفاته فيها.
مات أبوه في الهند، ولم يره. ورباه جده لأمه.
له:
• (بغية المستفيد في أخبار مدينة زبيد - ط) قسم منه
• (الفضل المزيد في تاريخ زبيد - خ) ذيل للأول
• (قرة العيون في أخبار اليمن - ط) اختصره من العسجد المسبوك، للخزرجي، وبلغ فيه حوادث سنة 923 هـ
• (تيسير الوصول، إلى جامع الأصول، من حديث الرسول - ط) ثلاثة أجزاء
• (أحسن السلوك في من ولي زبيد من الملوك - خ) أرجوزة
• (تمييز الطيب من الخبيث - ط) في الحديث.
ومعنى الديبع بلغة السودان الأبيض، وهو لقب لجده الأعلى علي بن يوسف

الدلائل على حب الله تعالى لعباده في القرآن الكريم لا تحصى وأهمها: قبوله تعالى توبة العصاة، والتجاوزعن سيئاتهم، والإنعام بالرضا، والحب بعد الغضب، ومن ذلك قوله تعالى: (وأن استغفروا ربكم ثم توبوا إليه يمتعكم متاعا حسنا إلى أجل مسمى ويؤت كل ذي فضل فضله) .
(استغفروا ربكم إنه كان غفارا. يرسل السماء عليكم مدرارا. ويمددكم بأموال وبنين ويجعل لكم جنات ويجعل لكم أنهارا) .
(ومن يعمل سوءا أو يظلم نفسه ثم يستغفر الله يجد الله غفورا رحيما) ,يحتوي هذا الكتاب على كثير من النصائح لتكفير الذنوب .. حمل الكتاب واستفد منه .
